Rutilated quartz is quartz that contains needle-like inclusions of rutile. Rutile ranges in colour from golden to copper to dark brown. The rutile may be distributed randomly or in bundles. They often form hexagonal patterns Ñ the threads meet at 60 or 120 degree angles.
