Sweet grass is an aromatic herb that is used in peace and healing rituals. Its sweet scented stalks are dried and made into braids and burned as incense.
Place sweet grass in the bottom of an abalone shell or other heat resistant dish, it is also wise to add a little sand for insulation. Ignite the braid, blow out flame and it will release a cloud of white, purifying smoke.
Our sweetgrass is harvested by selected Indigenous Companies that employ people in their community. We selected these suppliers specifically because they supports the local communities they reside in, and follow their customs and traditions.
The sweetgrass is wild, and is harvested by individual pickers (no big cultivation or farms involved). They ethically harvest to ensure they are leaving enough plants to self-populate next year. The braids are created by our suppliers and then shipped to us Ð where we package on-site.
