Rustic Cone Bells on Hamsa

The Hamsa is an ancient palm shaped amulet that represents protection, power, strength and blessings. Very popular throughout Africa and the Middle East, it is thought to guard against the evil eye. The symbol can often be found in jewellery or door and wall hangings. On this hand hammered shaped metal chime, there is a small rustic bell at the center of the hand and also hanging from the tip of the center finger. The bells have been adorned with colourful glass beads.

Historically, bells were made to commemorate or celebrate and are strongly associated with peace and freedom. Made by artisans in India using an age-old technique of metal-work (metal is beat into shape by hand, then buried under the hot sand kiln) This gives each bell a unique patina and beautiful round tone.
