1 box of 5 crystal platonic solids with information

Dimensions

Each approx. 20 mm. Box 19 cm x 4 cm x 4 cm
There are five platonic solids in this set and their names are derived from their numbers of faces. The wooden box has 5 drilled holes to protect each crystal and closes with a clasp. The inside lid of the box identifies each piece.

In Euclidean geometry, a Platonic solid is a regular, convex polyhedron. The faces are congruent, regular polygons, with the same number of faces meeting at each vertex.

The aesthetic beauty and symmetry of the Platonic solids have made them a favorite subject of geometers for thousands of years. They are named for the ancient Greek philosopher Plato, who theorized that the classical elements were constructed from the regular solids.

According to Stephen Skinner, the study of sacred geometry has its roots in the study of nature and the mathematical principles at work therein. Many forms observed in nature can be related to geometry, for example, the chambered nautilus grows at a constant rate and so its shell forms a logarithmic spiral to accommodate that growth without changing shape. Also, honeybees construct hexagonal cells to hold their honey. These and other correspondences are seen by believers in sacred geometry to be further proof of the cosmic significance of geometric forms. These phenomena can be explained through natural principles.

Silica (SiO2) is the building block of pure quartz, which happens to comprise more than 10 percent of the outer crust of Earth. Quartz was once thought to be solidified light and it is known as the master stone. In terms of crystals, quartz can be broken down into two major types; macro-crystalline (large six-sided crystals), and cryptocrystalline (micro), meaning the crystals are too small to be seen, even through a microscope. To break it down further, when quartz occurs as singular crystal points or clusters of points, it is considered macro-crystalline. This form of quartz is commonly transparent or translucent; though opaque forms also exist. It is noteworthy that while the macro versions may also appear within massive formations of cryptocrystalline (micro) quartz, not all varieties of cryptocrystalline appear as a macro version.
In crystal healing, quartz is used by many to remove negativity and promote harmony and co-operation within an environment. It is also used in cleansing and energizing other crystals and minerals. Excellent for meditation and accessing higher self and guides.
