The likeness of a elephant has been hand carved from onyx marble by Peruvian artisans. Stone animals fit easily into gift baskets, shadow boxes and are attractive when put in plants, in the window or a Zen garden.
Onyx is a banded variety of chalcedony. The colors of its bands range from white to almost every color (save some shades, such as purple or blue). Commonly, specimens of onyx contain bands of black and/or white. Onyx is thought to increase regeneration, happiness, intuition and instincts.
The elephant is widely seen as a sign of mental strength and stability. Many cultures see it as a cosmic creature representing royalty, dignity and power. As a dream animal the elephant tells us we are able to face whatever obstacle may be in our path.
