The Sleeping Beauty Mine is located near Globe Arizona, east of Phoenix. It is porous and has a naturally waxy luster. Turquoise may contain embedded pyrite flakes, or have black oxide veins running through it.

It is thought to enhance communication and creative expression. Turquoise is often chosen to induce peace of mind, balance emotions and to protect travelers. The colour is associated with compassion and expression.
