Carved Pocket Stone Bison - Assorted Onyx (3)

The likeness of a moose has been hand carved from onyx marble by Peruvian artisans. Stone animals fit easily into gift baskets, shadow boxes and are attractive when put in plants, in the window or a Zen garden.

Onyx is a banded variety of chalcedony. The colors of its bands range from white to almost every color (save some shades, such as purple or blue). Commonly, specimens of onyx contain bands of black and/or white. Onyx is thought to increase regeneration, happiness, intuition and instincts.

The bison is a symbol of prosperity and fortune. This earth-centered, selfless soul is a protector. It reminds us of the need to endure the changes and forces of nature by standing strong and mighty. The bison chooses its own path and adapts to life as it comes, making it a wonder symbol of freedom.
