These ema eggs are a recreation of the original ema do ova and come in a variety of types including clear quartz, amethyst, green quartz, rose quartz, smokey quartz and orange calcite.

The original ema do ova quartz were found in the Ema River in southern Brazil, but after years of popularity, the supply eventually ran out. The naturally tumbled quartz river stones had a frosted white crust on the outside. Often, one side of the eggs would be polished to reveal the clear quartz within.

Ema eggs, also known as flat tops, are shaped early in the tumbling process, then cut and polished on one surface. They are popular as dreamers stones because you can gaze into the polished window to gain insight. Use them for introspection and meditation.

Each stone type can also be used for its unique properties. They are composed of silicon dioxide with various amounts of iron (smoky quartz and amethyst), titanium (rose quartz) chromium and / or chlorite (green quartz). The orange calcite is composed of calcium carbonate with iron oxide (hematite).
