The name Incense comes from the Latin word incendere meaning 'to burn' and is composed of aromatic materials, which release fragrant smoke when burned. Incense use is almost universal in religious rituals across the globe and has been an integral part of many religious ceremonies since antiquity. Two of the most popular scents are Frankincense and Myrrh. Frankincense is burned for purification and spirituality. It is believed to be associated with masculine powers. While similar to Frankincense, Myrrh is used for healing, attraction, and is associated with feminine powers.
